Blue Skies

Alyn, Grace, Zachary and I are spending the most wonderful week being spoiled rotten at a Blue Skies Ministries Retreat.  Blue Skies Ministries usually serves families who have a child with cancer.  They invited us to attend this retreat thinking our family needs are very similar.   I never imagined how much we needed this gift.

We were welcomed by our host families - Pat, Carol, Gracie and Kathleen along with Kimber and Olivia. These families raised money to come on this trip to pay their own way to take care of us.  Can you believe it?  Every time we leave the room to enjoy a fantastic activity (things like shark fishing, snorkling, parent's night out, horseback riding on the beach, to name a few) some brownie from our host family makes sure our laundry and dishes were clean, and the rooms all neat and tidy.  The kids are loving playing with all their new friends.  Not once, have I had to worry.

Thank you to everyone who has touched our lives this week - families like ours dealing with cancer and families who care enough to help.  This has been a once in a life time experience.  The whole family has been able to check something off of their "bucket list" while feeling loved, cared for and protected.
